The color white has always been associated with purity and cleanliness. Angelic creatures are drawn in whiter than white gowns. Some say when we die we should go toward the bright white light. The color white has always been considered purifying. And so it goes with the rose.

The different colors of the rose have long been associated with certain meanings. The white rose is no exception. White being the pure color, some would call it pristine, the white rose has become a symbol of purity and innocence.

First Rose
Some authors suggest that white was the color of the first rose and from there it was miraculously transformed in to the other natural colors you can find today. Recently through breeding, other 'non natural' colors have been added.

Red Rose
At first the white rose was thought to be a symbol of true love, but recently the red rose has taken that meaning away. The color white has long been associated with virginity, innocence and purity - is it possible that these virtues came from the original rose?

White rosebuds, have become symbols of girlhood and carry the underlying message of one too young for love.

A bouquet of white roses given as a gift are not only beautiful, but they carry a wide range of virtues with them. Their simple pure, pristine appearance can generate feelings of love, friendship, hope and respect. When given in a bouquet, they can symbolize a new beginning.

Numerous organizations have incorporated 'white rose' their names. Especially Companies associated with cleaning.
